Dev Logs 2: Long Time, No Update!
A Quick Recap
Hi all! It's been a little time away from the site, but I'm back to posting more about the journey.
The indie studio I'm the game designer of, Renhet Studios, is currently lined up and taking part in a summer gamejam. This is the first I've ever participated in!
Gamejams are hard! Time limits completely change how something is built from any other method from before this, and from a design point of view, I feel like it's a harder task. :) I enjoy the challenge, though. I've stumbled a few times, but I've learned more in the past week than I have on my own.
I love our team. They're all great people, and everyone works so hard and is passionate about making games. It feels like magic seeing pieces come together one by one. Looking at a game like separate pieces of connecting blocks and watching everything fall in to place makes me really adore the hard work of everyone.
Life Updates
I took a trip back home to St. Louis to get my computer and move my things to California. It was really nice seeing family in person for the first time in 6 months. We celebrated my birthday, spent time together, played games.
Seeing where I've come from compared to where I am now is kind of surreal. I was just a guy living in his mom's house, working on an eternal game project. Now? Now I see games (plural) on the horizon.
I really feel like I've found my place. I'm excited to build more and see what we can do.
